By accessing or using the Pare website at pare.recipes (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

Pare is a free, web-based meal planning and pantry management tool. The Service allows you to:

• Track pantry inventory and expiration dates
• Import, create, and manage recipes
• Plan meals across custom date ranges
• Generate shopping lists from recipes and meal plans
• Discover recipes based on available pantry ingredients
• Scan receipts to add pantry items

The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising through Google AdSense.

3. User Accounts and Access

Pare does not require you to create an account or provide personal information such as a name, email address, or password. Your data is associated with an anonymous session stored in a browser cookie.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your browser session. If you clear your browser cookies or use a different browser or device, you may lose access to your stored data.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its servers, or any connected systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service

You retain ownership of any content you provide to the Service, including recipes, pantry items, meal plans, and shopping lists ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant Pare a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

You represent and warrant that you have the right to submit any User Content you provide, and that such content does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, functionality, code, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is owned by Pare and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our express written permission.

Recipes imported from third-party websites remain the intellectual property of their respective owners. Pare provides tools to import and organize recipes for personal use only. You are responsible for ensuring your use of third-party content complies with applicable copyright laws.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services, including but not limited to grocery delivery platforms (Instacart, Walmart, Amazon Fresh) and recipe source websites. These third-party services are not under our control, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy policies, or practices.

Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and is subject to those services' own terms and conditions.

8. Advertising

The Service displays advertisements provided by Google AdSense and potentially other advertising partners. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that advertisements may be displayed alongside your content and the Service's interface.

We are not responsible for the content of any advertisements or the products/services they promote. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information provided through the Service, including recipe data, nutritional information, or AI-generated suggestions.

Nutritional and dietary information provided by the Service is for informational purposes only and should not be considered medical or nutritional advice. Always consult with a qualified healthcare professional regarding dietary decisions, food allergies, or health conditions.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PARE AND ITS OPERATORS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS LESS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pare and its operators, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of a third party; or (d) any User Content you provide.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. We are not obligated to maintain or return any User Content upon termination.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

For users in the European Union, this clause does not affect your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. You retain the right to bring claims before the courts of your country of residence.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its original intent.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pare regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.
